What lessons have been learned by working with the contractors? Does MIR work with the same build groups from project to project?

We send all Request For Proposal’s to General Contractors from our approved list. The current G.C’s have been with MIR since the beginning of the project therefore have been instructed and educated in new construction methods which moved them away from the prescriptive, traditional methods they were used to. Over time they have learned to do advanced framing and SIP construction quicker than traditional stick built. Contractors have also learned about energy efficiency through LEED, Builders Challenge, material specification to the point that they are now advising private clients on the benefits.
