Meet Our Team at Greenbuild 2014

  • Tanya Harris

    Community Outreach Coordinator

    As Community Outreach Manager, Tanya assists Lower 9th Ward homeowners and residents in pursuing a better quality of life for themselves, their families and their community. Tanya Harris was born and raised in New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward and has been a leader in the post-Katrina rebuilding efforts and and advocate for the right of return for all residents of New Orleans. As chair of the Lower 9th Ward Neighborhood Council, Tanya has led organizing campaigns for fair wages, voting accessibility and affordable housing. Harris was nominated for CNN's AC360 "Keeping Them Honest" award and was the recipient of the Tides Foundation's 2007 Jane Bagley Lehman Award.

  • James Mazzuto

    Chief Operating Officer

    James is the Chief Operating Officer of Make It Right. As the COO, he is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Foundation and its various projects nationwide. James works with homeowners, donors and communities to build healthy, sustainable and affordable housing developments throughout the United States. James is a guest lecturer at Tulane's Freeman School of Business, and has been featured on National Public Radio discussing the solar and affordable housing industries. He previously served on the U.S. Green Building Council's review committee for programming and panel selection for the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo. He also served as a keynote speaker at the Emerald Coast Transportation Symposium where he presented on sustainable development for communities and solar energy. James received his Bachelors degree from Boston College in Economics, as well as his MBA from The Freeman School of Business at Tulane University with a concentration in finance and international business with a specialization in energy. While at Tulane he was a Morton A. Aldrich Fellow and a Burkenroad Leadership Fellow. A native of New Jersey, he has since embraced the great New Orleans traditions of crawfish, Mardi Gras, and letting the good times roll.
