As Controller, Paul oversees the activities of the accounting department and prepares internal and external financial reports. He also coordinates the annual GAAP audit of the Foundation’s financial statements and the preparation of federal and state tax returns. Paul is also in charge of aiding Director of Human Resources in the coordination of all human resource activities.
Paul became a Certified Public Accountant in 1997. Prior to joining the Make It Right team, he was the Chief Financial Officer for the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine in Washington, District of Columbia for ten years, and the Controller for BioHorizon’s Inc. in Birmingham, Alabama for six years. Paul also spent five years working in public accounting with L. Paul Kassouf and Company, CPA, LLC, concentrating on audit and tax for medical practices and with Renner and Company CPA, LLC in Washington, concentrating on audit of non-profit entities and for-profit companies including construction.
Born and raised in the city of New Orleans, Paul is proud to finally return home and join the Make It Right team, helping with the restoration of his home town after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
