Carie A. Fischer works as Associate Counsel at Make It Right. As a Louisiana licensed attorney and member of the MIR legal team, Carie supports the Director of Legal Services and executive management in all legal related matters for the Organization. Additionally, Carie works in conjunction with the Homeowner Services Department and Construction Department to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, establish and maintain policy protocols and procedures, and manage real estate transactions.
In addition to her work with Make It Right, Carie helped establish the non-profit LearnToLive, a humanitarian organization that provides healthcare, education, and clean water to global communities through the promotion of sustainable practices. Carie currently serves as pro bono General Counsel and Chair of the LearnToLive Board of Directors.
A sixth generation New Orleanian, Carie received her B.A., Magna Cum Laude, in psychology from Loyola University New Orleans in 2005 and later received her J.D. in Civil Law with a concentration in Environmental Law from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2010. Carie is currently pursuing her Masters of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of New Orleans with a focus in land use and urban design.
